Wisonsin?

In the morning we leave for the great state of Wisconsin to shoot Rachel & Chad's wedding. I've never been to Wisconsin, but everybody I've talked to says how wonderful it is, and apparently it stays light until super late there, which isn't something I'm used to out here in San Diego!

I'll post up some pictures of the journey when we return!

Heather & Ryan: Engagement

On Saturday I met up with Heather and Ryan up in Encinitas, at Moonlight beach, which is one of my favorite beaches in San Diego. Even though it was a bit overcast, we had a great time shooting their engagement session!

Their wedding is in August in Kauai, and I'm so excited for them! They are such a cute couple, and really a lot of fun to be around :) Here's a little slideshow from our time together! If you're friends with them, hit them up for the link to view all the photos!

This is Hilarious

My buddy Josh pointed me towards this website, xkcd.com, and it's basically a daily comic of sorts, and these comics are super funny. They're on the dry/witty side, so if you don't like that, then you probably won't think they are very funny.

EDIT: I've been informed by my wife, that these are in fact, not funny. Hmmm.

Check this one out:

Happy Memorial Day

Yesterday Erin and I spent the afternoon aboard the USS Midway, a decommissioned aircraft carrier that's been turned into a museum here in San Diego. The thing is awesome! We actually went on Saturday as well, but didn't get to see everything, so we had to go back for a second day. I was absolutely amazed at the size of the ship - it's truly a floating city.

The picture above is of the "island" or control tower, which is on top of the carrier deck. And that's my hot wife in the foreground. If you're ever in San Diego, you need to check out the Midway. Well worth it! Here's the website.

Seeing where and how all the men live when they are out at sea made me so grateful for their service. They definitely don't live in glamorous conditions, and they don't have a lot of personal space. The term "serving our country" never meant so much to me - these men and women make so many sacrifices in the name of keeping our freedom. And I'm blown away. It really brought it home for me and made me see an aircraft carrier for more than "just a big boat." Very cool.

So, thank you to all those serving in the armed forces, protecting our country, our freedom, and our way of life.

Use the China!

Erin and I are about to celebrate our 1 year anniversary next month (June 25th!) and I can't believe how quickly a year has gone! We have so much fun together, I'm so dang lucky I get to spend the rest of my life with her!

If you know Erin, you know she's an amazing baker, but what you may not know is what an amazing cook she is, too! The other night, she made an incredible meal (which isn't out of the ordinary) and we decided to use our china. And I love doing that! China isn't just for when you have important people over, or for special occasions, it should be used more often than not!

So, we busted it out (we've used it before, this wasn't the first time in a year, don't worry! And had ouselves a little fancy dinner of honey glazed chicken, roasted lime asparagus, and some of Erin's special sangria. Mmmmmm!

Marriage advice: use your china!
