Dale and Valarie

Some friends of ours, Dale and Valarie, are in town this week, visiting from Idaho, and we got to spend a little bit of time with them, which was really great! They just got a new puppy, so we decided to go outside and take some pictures of them with "Jager"

They are so fun! We spent about 5 minutes shooting, but got some great shots...

Golfing, baby!

On Wednesday I went golfing with a few of my buddies, Patrick, Justin, and Andrew. Now, if you know me, you are probably laughing already. I definitely don't play golf. It's not that I don't like it, or that I'm terrible at it, I just don't do it, ever. So this was one of the first times I've ever played a "real" round of golf. You know, 18 holes, golf cart, the whole deal.

We went to Encinitas Ranch, just up the road, and it was AWESOME! The weather was perfect, although I wish I had thought ahead like Patrick and worn shorts, because it was definitely warm enough. Here's a few pics- I didn't take many because I was busy showing this guy Tiger Woods a thing or two...

Happy Birthday to Erin!

Thursday was Erin's 22nd birthday, and so I decided to invite all her friends over to our place for a little surprise party action! Erin had never had a surprise party thrown for her, and had always wanted one, so I thought this was the perfect opportunity :)

I had initially told Erin that we'd be going to a nice, romantic dinner to celebrate, and spend a wonderful night out on the town, and of course, she was super excited. But then, the morning of her birthday, it came up that her friends had "planned" something to do with her, and had forgotten to tell me about it! So I told Erin that dinner could be rescheduled, and she should go out with her girlfriends, because that's really important and such...but little did she know!

So the girls took her all over San Diego, and then eventually ended up back at our place, with Erin blindfolded and totally confused! She was so shocked when we all shouted "Surprise!" and couldn't believe that we'd pulled it off without her finding out!

It was so fun!

I'll put up pictures as soon as I can- I didn't have my camera on me, so I'm depending on my awesome friends to send me some pics!

Milton & Chavonne

If you go to PLNU, you probably know who Milton & Chavonne are. If you don't know who they are, then you need to go meet them and get to know them! I worked with Chavonne for a few years up at Hume Lake while I was in College, and she is a crack up. I got to photograph their wedding, and it was so much fun! This was one couple who was super excited to get hitched!

One of my favorite things about the entire day was Chavonne's shoes & Milton's socks. You've got to see this:

How hilarious is that? Maybe it's just me, but I get a kick out of things like that.

Christmas Tree!

All my life (practically) my family has always had fake, but beautiful Christmas trees. I don't know what it is about them, but I really, really love fake trees. They are so perfect looking, they look the same year after year, and they don't make a huge mess.

Well, all that has now come to an end, now that I'm married. See, Erin is from Idaho, where when it gets to be Christmas time, they just go out into their backyard, chop down a tree, and toss it in the living room. Erin has never had a fake tree. Always real. And when it came to deciding between a fake tree and a real one, well, we got a real one.

This is the tree we picked out. It is gigantic :) Actually, it's supposedly 7' tall, but that's just because it has this pointy thing sticking out the top. It's a Noble Fir, which I understand is a "Top Notch" tree.

Erin was really excited! We managed to get the thing into our new car (Which I'm just realizing I haven't told you about yet! More on that later). Seriously, Erin was so excited. It made the whole thing worth it! She was bouncing up and down the whole way home. And if you know Erin, you know that means she's a happy camper!

This picture cracks me up. We have such a small little apartment (it's really quite awesome though) and here's our 7' Christmas tree next to our big screen TV. I don't know why it makes me laugh so much. Yes, those are stuffed bride and groom snowmen on top of the TV, for those of you who were wondering!

Nate & Chrissy

I love this couple! I got the chance to go out to Arizona about a month ago and shoot Nate & Crissy's wedding, and it was a blast! They are such a fun couple to be around, and Erin and I had a wonderful time hanging out with them. I was mid-way through editing their pictures when all the nonsense with my computer happened (long story) so I've just gotten around to putting up a little slideshow of their images- click here for their slideshow!

So Fast!

Last night I built my new computer, finally! And let me tell you - it is so stinking fast! As some of you know, I had some issues with my old computer, it was way to slow to keep up with my workflow. I mean, it was a 2gHz Athlon based machine, but that wasn't enough to satisfy the power-hungry Photoshop, Bridge, and Lightroom that I use for 99% of my photography work.

I built the new machine around Intel's new Core2Duo chip, the latest in dual core hyperthreading technology. All the specs said this thing was fast, but I couldn't have imagined, until I put it all together! Just to give you an idea, in Bridge, applying a fairly complex camera raw setting to 100 images took about 20-25 minutes.

I did it last night in about a minute. Boo-yah!

It's going to be an editing frenzy this weekend, and I edit all the things from the past few weeks that I'd been holding off for the new machine to edit.
