It's coming....

I am so excited. Why, you ask? Because our new website is going to be unveiled in just two weeks, and it is going to rock! It is taking so much self-restraint right now for me not to show you all the new site, since it's about half way done, but I can do it!

May 5th is the official release date. That's right, Cinco de Mayo.

It's cool because I always tell people to outsource things, and I'm finally listening to my own advice. I've outsourced the website design, and it is so killer! I'll be able to update it super easy, from anywhere in the world, which is also a really great thing.

Stay tuned!

Check out this sweet photo!

Erin and I just finished unpacking all our boxes from the move from the old place to the new one, and now we've got more boxes to go through!

My wonderful parents were kind enough to store all my "junk" in their garage forever, and I figured it was finally time to grab it all, and go through it.

Here's my picture from T-Ball...remember that? Wow. I was like 6 or something.

Go Red Sox!

Stop and Hear the Music

I saw this yesterday, and I was absolutely stunned. Not because I couldn't believe it, but because it is hauntingly true of my life.

In an "experiment" by Washington Post writer Gene Weingarten, world-renowned violinist Josh Bell plays his violin in the Washington DC Subway during rush hour. He plays a piece regarded as one of the most beautiful compositions ever, and on one of the most valuable violins ever made.

And nobody stops to listen.

It bothers me that my life, and all our lives for that matter, are often so busy that we also wouldn't stop to listen, because we are so focused on what we are doing, so intent on being somewhere at a certain time for a certain reason that really has no ultimate purpose. Don't get me wrong, I know people were in a hurry to get to work, and work isn't something that you can generally be late to.

I'm just saying that sometimes we need to just stop, pause, and take in the beauty that is around us. Really, this world is a wonderfully beautiful place. I just think we should pay attention, and we'll be surprised to find beauty in some of the oddest places...

Here's the video:

Matt & Jourdan

Last Saturday I photographed Matt & Jourdan's beautiful wedding up in Dana Point, and it was absolutely beautiful. I absolutely adore this couple, and I've been so excited for their wedding for so long. The love they have for one another is contagious and they are so much fun to be around!

I shot so many pictures (I had fun) and with the move and all, I'm a bit behind in my editing. But, I just HAD to post up some pictures here :) Also, there's a link to a quick slideshow at the bottom of this post...

I loved Jourdan's dress. It was so her, and I know people say that all the time, but this dress really was so her...

The boys...being cool :)

I really liked this picture a lot. Matt was so calm before the ceremony, he was just sitting around the corner from the site on these stairs. I had climbed up the stairs to see if I could get a cool shot of the Ceremony site, and then I looked down and saw Matt like this...I just thought it said a lot.

Say Cheese!

Last night I got to shoot a wedding with my friend Drew B up in Fallbrook at Los Willows (which was beautiful as always!) The couple, Christie & Ethan, was adorable, and so much fun! I'll post up some pictures later, but I wanted to show you some photos I got from the photo booth they rented from the folks over at Red Cheese! That thing was so much dang fun! Here's another series of pictures. The cool thing about being the photographers at a wedding is that we didn't have to wait in line! This booth was so popular!

All Moved In!

We're all moved in, and I'm loving our new place! It totally fits Erin and I so good, it's perfect. We've still got some boxes to unpack, but the majority of it is done. I'm excited because I finally was able to set up my whole workstation and I've been spending the morning editing pictures, which I really enjoy!

Today I'm headed up to Los Willows to photograph a wedding, which should be really fun! Every time I go shoot a wedding, I get really excited inside, it's kind of funny. I also become really reflective and intentional the morning of, mostly because I realize the gravity of the situation - someone's getting married, and that's huge. They want me to be there to photograph one of the most amazing and special days of their lives. And that's even bigger. And I absolutely love it!

Anyway, I've got to go get ready to head out! I'll post up some pictures of the new pad later!

Moving is fun!

When you read the title of this post, you should read it in the most sarcastic tone you can, because that's how I meant it! Erin and I are in the process of moving from our beloved 1st apartment together to our new Condo! While we are super excited about the new place (pictures soon) I am so beat from all the packing, moving, and unpacking we've been doing.

I've got about a million e-mails that have built up ever since I packed up my workstation, so I'll respond as quickly as possible- the cable company is supposed to come today or tomorrow to set up my internet, and then we'll be set!

For now, if you need to get ahold of me, just call :) But if I drop a box on my foot while trying to answer your call, I'm blaming you!

Have a fantastic day!
