Joy & Chad: Wedding

We hung out with Joy & Chad a few weeks ago at their wedding here in San Diego at the North Chapel at NTC. This is my new favorite spot to shoot in San Diego! Like, I want to shoot a wedding there every weekend! The chapel is SO COOL, beautiful light, open, everything you could want. PLUS, it's right in the middle of NTC/Liberty Station, so there are so many cool options for fun places to shoot.

Joy is such a sweetheart, and was an amazing bride. She was so ready to marry Chad, it was so awesome to get to be a part of their wedding! Chad was a total stud, and his groomsmen were HILARIOUS to hang around! We had a great time! At the reception, which was at the Kona Kai resort, everybody made us feel like family- we didn't want to leave! Anyway, here's a few favorites:

I love this shot of Joy through the front window of Details Salon in Ocean Beach.

The flowers were beautiful, simple and white.

This is one of my favorite dresses ever! It was so unique and classy, and definitely fit Joy perfectly.

How often do you see this kind of attention given to a dude? Chad was a STUD!

The boys, lookin' good.

Beautiful chapel, huh?

Joy's veil was about 45 feet long - beautiful! It was just the right amount of windy to make the veil really be breathtaking.

Erin snapped this one right as Joy and Chad entered the reception. I absolutely love it!

Can you see how happy she is? She absolutely adores Chad, and he digs her so much! Him and I had a talk at one point in the night about how we both somehow managed to land ladies that are way out of our league!

Thank you so much, you two, for sharing your day with us! We're so blessed to have gotten to be a part of it, and we're so excited to hang out!

Bekah & Scott's Guestbook

Bekah & Scott's wedding is just around the corner, so I thought it would be fun to post up their guest book! I love when couples ask for these things, I think they are such a cool way to have a memory of the guests from a wedding as opposed to those boring guest books that you usually see. This is an 8x8, 20 page KISS guest book. Bekah & Scott opted for the HOT red cover! Check it out:

Guess what I did yesterday?

Well, you don't have to guess really because here's some fun pictures our day of sailing from yesterday! It was an AMAZING day for sailing, the wind was perfect, and the temperature couldn't have been better. The wind was something like 16mph (which is way fast) and we were going about 7 knots the whole day! Yes!

A cool action shot

This is Jason, and it's his boat that we were on. "Hi, I'm Jason, your crazy captain! Welcome aboard!" Can you tell how much fun we were having?

Josh, looking tall. Which shot do you like better? The blue-saturated one, or the antique-y looking one?

Jason, the crazy captain again.

Doesn't this look like the life? We passed these guys on the way out to the ocean. How cool is the one dude in the middle, chillin?

A self-portrait :)

Mike & Shelly: Engagement

A few weeks ago Erin and I headed up to Laguna Beach to meet up with Mike & Shelly for their engagement session literally days before their wedding! We had a great time with them, and we absolutely adore Mike! He's such a great dude, and he had us (myself, Erin and Shelly) cracking up the whole time with his randomness!

He loves acting out scenarios, so I'd make stuff up and then call "Action!" when it was time for him to get in to character. It was a riot! He'd be just hanging out, and then I'd call action, and he'd flip on the charm and suave and walk over to Shelly and just be Mr. Don Juan. So great!

Anyways, here's a few of my favorites. I was really in a "shooting directly into the sun" mood, which is always fun. I think I'm still seeing spots, though :)

How cool is this phone booth? I love this thing!

They were such good sports, totally up for anything, even getting soaked while we waited for "the perfect wave." I think we got this on the first wave, but we definitely made them sit through at least a dozen more :)

An homage to the traditional "kissing behind the bouquet shot" that all us photographer-types do so much. This ice cream was amazing, cool little gilatto shop in Laguna, I don't remember how to get there though.

Right after I called "action." Don't you love the charm?

I thought this was really sweet. Kinda says a lot, I think. What you don't see in this picture is a dude laying out on the rocks, right in front of Mike. Way to block, Mike! Action!

Dustin & Danielle: Wedding

Can I just tell you how much fun this couple is? They are SO FUN! I haven't blogged their engagement shoot yet, but just wait till you see that because we got some hilarious shots in there! I met these two forever ago, and they were actually the first booking of 2007, since they got married on 7.7.07 (can you see how far behind on blogging I am!!!??). They are both physical therapists, and are the nicest people ever, and so caring, and just plain fun to be around.

Dustin loves Danielle, like a lot. Him and I have talked on multiple occasions on how we definitely landed ladies that are way out of our league! Anyways, some favorites from the wedding:

Danielle looked amazing! Gorgeous eyes, huh?

Dustin had some awesome groomsmen that helped him be all stylin'. I can't tell you how excited this guy was to see his beautiful bride...

I LOVE this shot that Erin grabbed moments before the ceremony. It says so much, don't you think?

How CLASSIC is Dustin's face? He's so pumped! Danielle was a princess, through and through.

My wife takes sweet photos:

Typical Dustin, hamming it up in front of everybody, trying to get a reaction of if the cake should go in the face or not. Hilarious!

DJ Pat made the party rockin' with some awesome tunes and killer lights. If you ever need a DJ, he's a great one to work with - definitely made it a party!

Alesha & Lane: Wedding

Alesha and Lane have got to be one of the most genuine couples I've ever met. They are seriously so kind and wonderful, they are like a dream to work with! Erin and I were so blessed to get to hang out with them at their wedding, I have the best clients ever! The ceremony was at the Marina Village right on Mission Bay (gorgeous) and the reception was in one of the ballrooms there at Marina Village. There were so many favorites from the day, here's a few favorites, though:

I loved this, every time I look at this image it just cracks me up!

The guys, looking good.

Such a sweet cake!
