Some of you may have noticed a funny post from yesterday, about me liking kittens, with the picture of a cute little kitten. That was a little thing courtesy of the one and only Jared Bauman, and I've spent the last day trying to figure out who posted it! EDIT: Apparently it was Bronson's idea.
Here's a lesson for all you photographers out there: when you're hanging out at another photographer's studio. Don't forget to log out of your blog account when you leave :)
Here's the picture of the kitten, for all of you who love cats.
I love good pranks and this one really got me. Hilarious :) Thanks for the love guys.

Bekah & Scott: Wedding
I had such an awesome time a few weeks ago up in Sacramento for Bekah & Scott's wedding! Bekah is one of Erin's best friends, and so Erin was actually IN this wedding, which kind of strange but fun at the same time. When Bekah asked me to shoot her wedding I was absolutely thrilled because her and Scott are some of the most hilarious people you'll ever meet, and I knew their pictures would be AWESOME!
Probably my favorite moment of the day was when Scott & Bekah first saw each other, it couldn't have been more perfect. You'll see the pictures in the slideshow below, and I know you'll agree. We found this old wooden bridge and put Scott in the middle of it, and then brought Bekah up behind him...such a spectacular moment for them to see each other for the first time!!!
Check out the slideshow :)

Information Revolution
I saw this video over on Chase Jarvis' blog the other day, and it really got me thinking about how cool this "Web 2.0" world is that is being created / has been created before our very eyes. Check out the video - it's a little slow to start, but you'll dig it by the end :)
On a side note, if you haven't checked out Chase's stuff, you need to. He's one of the most incredible commercial photographers I know of, and I constantly draw inspiration from his style. Check it.

Photograph in a Gallery!
So, this photograph of Dustin & Danielle's wedding isn't really hanging in a gallery somewhere, but it's kind of cool, huh? I found this thing called Museumr that you give it a photo, and select a museum layout, and then boom it spits something like this out. Pretty fun :) Click here to try it!

Fire Update
Wow, what an incredible day. No doubt most of you have seen on the news the craziness that has been going on down here in San Diego; I can't believe how many houses have now burned to the ground and how much of San Diego has just burned. This morning my folks got the call to evacuate their house up in Rancho Santa Fe, so we went and helped them get everything of importance out and then brought them down to our place.
At this point, both my parent's house and my Grandmother's house are both ok. My dad and I just went out this afternoon up to Rancho Santa Fe / Rancho Bernardo to check things out, and so I snapped some photos. Sorry for the color/white balance type stuff, I just pretty much took these all straight out of the camera because I wanted to quickly get them up to show to you.
The firefighters down here are doing an AMAZING job, working so hard and tirelessly to protect us. I know a bunch of homes have been lost already, but if it weren't for all these awesome firefighters it would definitely be a lot worse.
Here's a bunch of the images:

Canon's newest Lens!
Ok, so I don't typically post photo-dork type stuff up here, mostly because my wife makes fun of me for it, BUT Canon just put out a press release today about this lens! Yes, finally a 200mm f/2.0 IS L series lens!!! It's still under development and so no timelines or pricing information is available, but they are showing some prototypes at PhotoPlus this week in NYC...
Anyways, my guess is somewhere around a $3k list price, and I want one :)
Here's the link to the press release

Martin & Theary: Wedding
A few weeks ago Erin and I got to shoot Martin & Theary's wedding up in good ol' Long Beach, and it was awesome! Theary was absolutely stunning and I don't think she stopped smiling all day long! Both her and Martin were soooo excited to get married, and you could really just feel the excitement in the air the whole day.
They decided to do all their pictures before the ceremony, which is something I always highly recommend, and because of this we were able to do their photographs out at Shoreline Park, which is right on the waterfront near the Queen Mary. It's such a great spot to shoot, and I was so amped that we were able to hang out there!!! The sky was so blue, it was incredible.
Candice from Dolcissima Events did an awesome job, the reception and ceremony were both GORGEOUS! They had the one and only Bino from BEG hosting the night, and I don't think I could recommend this guy enough. Seriously, one of the best DJ's I've ever worked with; he had the all the guests up on their feet dancing and having fun the entire night, it was awesome!
Thank you, Martin & Theary, for letting Erin and I be a part of your wedding day! You made us feel like family, and we're stoked to hang out with you soon!!!

Let me introduce myself...
Although many of you probably know me already, I have actually never officially blogged before - this is my first time ever! Wahoo! I've been meaning to blog for a long time, but as most of us know things like that usually take longer than expected...
If you haven't actually ever met me in person, you may only know me as "the most amazing little baker," "loves pizza when we travel," and "the wifey." And although I'd like to say differently, that pretty much sums me up...
Just kidding. :) I was actually a Literature major in college and two years ago would never have even fathomed that I would be in the middle of this whole photography thing. I was planning on becoming a high school english teacher and while I still haven't entirely given up on that notion, it just doesn't seem to line up with my passions right about now. Instead, I love people and I love moments and I love memories (I am a sentimental romantic to the core!) and that's why wedding photography clicks with something deep inside me that just feels right. I think that's why many wedding photographers just love what they do - we get to experience and capture emotion like no other source really can. And then we get to give that little package of emotion back to the world - and that's exciting.
Anyhoo, as I mentioned before, you may only know me from what my dearest hubby has written about me in the past year or so. So just in case there are any crazy rumors flying around about "the better half" (hahah), I would just like to clear things up a bit (or maybe even confirm some, we'll see).
Five things you may not know about me:
1. I used to swim in the horse pond as a kid and then not shower for five days. (I only did this during the summertime though, or needless to say, I would have been the smelly kid in third grade. Oh, and I don't do it anymore, despite what Jeff might say.)
2. I looooove listening to Garrison Keillor's podcast, The Writer's Almanac, on NPR. Sometimes, I'll even show up late for my 6:45 bible study on Thursday nights, just so I can sit outside in the car and listen to his five minute radio broadcast at 7 pm!! (If any of you ladies from girls night are reading this, I promise I'll try to be on time! Its just soooo good!)
3. I was a bookworm as a kid and had the greatest childhood because of it. In fact, I went to a children's bookstore a few years ago in San Diego and realized that I had read all but two books on the rather large shelf of kids novels that I was looking at. Many of them twice. Wow.
4. We have a crazy cat named Gracie. So cute, but seriously, crazy.
5. I love to scrapbook (what did I tell you about being sentimental?), and I could spend HOURS in a scrapbook store - so many colors and designs, how can you choose?
So keep your eyes out for more posts by yours truly!
- Erin

Off to Idaho!
Guess what I get to do this weekend, that most of you probably don't? I get to have Thanksgiving!!! Wahoo! Erin and I are heading out to Idaho for a little Thanksgiving in October, and I couldn't be more excited! Erin is basically the most amazing little baker you've ever met, and it's around the holidays that she pulls out all the stops, so that means I'm going to be eating some amazing pies very shortly!
I'll have limited access to e-mail (I think they have internet in Idaho, I'm not sure though), but if you need to reach me, you've got the cell number. If you don't have the cell number, well....
I really hope the grass is long enough to need to be mowed. I got to do that last time I was out there, and I had a blast! (I'm a city boy) Check it out, that's me on the sick riding lawnmower!
