Dale and Valarie

Some friends of ours, Dale and Valarie, are in town this week, visiting from Idaho, and we got to spend a little bit of time with them, which was really great! They just got a new puppy, so we decided to go outside and take some pictures of them with "Jager"

They are so fun! We spent about 5 minutes shooting, but got some great shots...

Golfing, baby!

On Wednesday I went golfing with a few of my buddies, Patrick, Justin, and Andrew. Now, if you know me, you are probably laughing already. I definitely don't play golf. It's not that I don't like it, or that I'm terrible at it, I just don't do it, ever. So this was one of the first times I've ever played a "real" round of golf. You know, 18 holes, golf cart, the whole deal.

We went to Encinitas Ranch, just up the road, and it was AWESOME! The weather was perfect, although I wish I had thought ahead like Patrick and worn shorts, because it was definitely warm enough. Here's a few pics- I didn't take many because I was busy showing this guy Tiger Woods a thing or two...

It's almost here...I love this thing! I can't wait to show it off- it's due to be done in time to launch January 1, so stay tuned! It's got a lot more cool content, and really shows off some of my photography a lot more.

Happy Birthday to Erin!

Thursday was Erin's 22nd birthday, and so I decided to invite all her friends over to our place for a little surprise party action! Erin had never had a surprise party thrown for her, and had always wanted one, so I thought this was the perfect opportunity :)

I had initially told Erin that we'd be going to a nice, romantic dinner to celebrate, and spend a wonderful night out on the town, and of course, she was super excited. But then, the morning of her birthday, it came up that her friends had "planned" something to do with her, and had forgotten to tell me about it! So I told Erin that dinner could be rescheduled, and she should go out with her girlfriends, because that's really important and such...but little did she know!

So the girls took her all over San Diego, and then eventually ended up back at our place, with Erin blindfolded and totally confused! She was so shocked when we all shouted "Surprise!" and couldn't believe that we'd pulled it off without her finding out!

It was so fun!

I'll put up pictures as soon as I can- I didn't have my camera on me, so I'm depending on my awesome friends to send me some pics!

When I was in Arizona last month, I met up with Matt and Brynn- a couple of awesome people, who's wedding I get to shoot next summer in Flagstaff, Arizona! They are such a sweet couple- I'm so stoked I get to hang out with them again for their wedding! YES!

Anyways, click here to see their pictures and satisfy your curiosity :)

Milton & Chavonne

If you go to PLNU, you probably know who Milton & Chavonne are. If you don't know who they are, then you need to go meet them and get to know them! I worked with Chavonne for a few years up at Hume Lake while I was in College, and she is a crack up. I got to photograph their wedding, and it was so much fun! This was one couple who was super excited to get hitched!

One of my favorite things about the entire day was Chavonne's shoes & Milton's socks. You've got to see this:

How hilarious is that? Maybe it's just me, but I get a kick out of things like that.

Christmas Tree!

All my life (practically) my family has always had fake, but beautiful Christmas trees. I don't know what it is about them, but I really, really love fake trees. They are so perfect looking, they look the same year after year, and they don't make a huge mess.

Well, all that has now come to an end, now that I'm married. See, Erin is from Idaho, where when it gets to be Christmas time, they just go out into their backyard, chop down a tree, and toss it in the living room. Erin has never had a fake tree. Always real. And when it came to deciding between a fake tree and a real one, well, we got a real one.

This is the tree we picked out. It is gigantic :) Actually, it's supposedly 7' tall, but that's just because it has this pointy thing sticking out the top. It's a Noble Fir, which I understand is a "Top Notch" tree.

Erin was really excited! We managed to get the thing into our new car (Which I'm just realizing I haven't told you about yet! More on that later). Seriously, Erin was so excited. It made the whole thing worth it! She was bouncing up and down the whole way home. And if you know Erin, you know that means she's a happy camper!

This picture cracks me up. We have such a small little apartment (it's really quite awesome though) and here's our 7' Christmas tree next to our big screen TV. I don't know why it makes me laugh so much. Yes, those are stuffed bride and groom snowmen on top of the TV, for those of you who were wondering!

Nate & Chrissy

I love this couple! I got the chance to go out to Arizona about a month ago and shoot Nate & Crissy's wedding, and it was a blast! They are such a fun couple to be around, and Erin and I had a wonderful time hanging out with them. I was mid-way through editing their pictures when all the nonsense with my computer happened (long story) so I've just gotten around to putting up a little slideshow of their images- click here for their slideshow!

So Fast!

Last night I built my new computer, finally! And let me tell you - it is so stinking fast! As some of you know, I had some issues with my old computer, it was way to slow to keep up with my workflow. I mean, it was a 2gHz Athlon based machine, but that wasn't enough to satisfy the power-hungry Photoshop, Bridge, and Lightroom that I use for 99% of my photography work.

I built the new machine around Intel's new Core2Duo chip, the latest in dual core hyperthreading technology. All the specs said this thing was fast, but I couldn't have imagined, until I put it all together! Just to give you an idea, in Bridge, applying a fairly complex camera raw setting to 100 images took about 20-25 minutes.

I did it last night in about a minute. Boo-yah!

It's going to be an editing frenzy this weekend, and I edit all the things from the past few weeks that I'd been holding off for the new machine to edit.

Back in San Diego!

We had such an amazing week last week in Minnesota, but it is definitely good to be home! We got back last night, and I collapsed on the couch at 7pm after eating dinner- I was so tired! Erin woke me up about 10 and got me in bed- I slept so dang good!

Getting to spend so much time with family was a real blessing- I'm so lucky to have such an awesome family. Everybody was so excited to hear about how the first 5 months of marriage have been, and I loved sharing everything that Erin and I have learned in such a short amount of time. I think the over-arching tone was that "Marriage Rocks!" I must have said that about a million times this past week!

Tonight, I'm building my new computer, which I'm super excited about! It's going to be so fast, and allow me to get much more work done in less time, which is always good. I'll be running the new Intel Core2Duo chip in it, which is supposed to be ridiculously fast, so we'll see!

The Eye of the Storm

Yesterday, we woke up super early, and decided to go to the Mall of America for the day after thanksgiving sales. It was crazy! It was like traveling directly into the eye of the storm...this is the largest mall in the U.S. and there were a ton of people there, but that's what made it exciting.

While I didn't get to see any women beating each other with purses over a $10 DVD player, there were definitely a handful of those super intense shoppers out there. The shopping was awesome, but the best part of the experience, for me, was spending a few hours at the indoor amusement park riding some rides!

Erin is kind of grabby.

Erin, Dan (my brother) and me, in line for the rollercoaster!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Erin and I are spending the holiday in Minnesota, where I'm from. It is COLD here!

Wow, this past year has been amazing. It's hard to believe all the blessings in my life that have occurred since last thanksgiving! As many of you know, I started this whole wedding photography thing just over a year ago- it has blown me away to see how this has just gotten out of control!

Anyways, here's what I'm thankful for....

Wifey
I can't believe I got married! So awesome! Erin and I are coming up on our 5 month anniversary in a few days, and I seriously feel like the most blessed man on the planet to get to wake up next to her every morning. She is such a blessing in my life, and I really feel like I'm hanging out with my best friend every moment we get to spend with one another. I'm so thankful for my beeeeautiful wife Erin!

Friends

My friends are incredible, and I'm so thankful for all of you. You've been there for me, and with me this last year so much, as I talked about asking Erin to marry me, the popping the question, and then getting married. Thank you so much for sharing in all the joy and excitement. It means so much to know that I have so many friends who genuinely care about Erin and I, and know that we love all of you so much. Our door is always open, and our couch is super comfy!

Photography

I've gotten to shoot so many weddings, and made a ton of new friends. That's the coolest thing, for me though- the friends I've made. There isn't a couple that I've photographed this year that I don't hear from all the time, and that makes me so excited! I'm so stoked that all these people count Erin and I as friends now, and not just the "crazy guys who took pictures at my wedding and his basically amazing wife." That rocks. Plus, we've gotten a lot of free dinners out of the deal :) And if you know me, you know I love food!

And so much more.....

Happy Thanksgiving! Gobble gobble!

PLNU Homecoming

This past weekend was Homecoming weekend at PLNU, my alma mater. It was wierd, since this was my first year attending anything as an alum. I felt old. It was kind of sad, really!

BUT, I got to take a ton of pictures, which was fun. Erin is working on the school yearbook, and one of the sections she is in charge of is the homecoming section, so she asked me as the husband to come and photograph a few of the events.

Wednesday was the Powder-Puff football game, which was so cool. The Juniors/Seniors dominated, and some of these girls really were pretty good at the game! I've got pictures from that, I'll post them up whenever I get them edited (hopefully soon)

Friday was the Homecoming Court Coronation Ceremony, followed by the annual variety show. One of my good friends, Cristina, was nominated for Homecoming Queen- she didn't win, but she'll always be a queen to us!

Saturday was the Homecoming basketball game. We lost, and it was sad. But, I know something that will put a smile on your face. Steve Riddle, a 6'6" man being crowd surfed up into the stands by a few hundread over-spirited Young Hall guys:

And I'll leave you with that.

New Phone!

So the other day I got a notice from Cingular informing me that I was eligible for an upgrade for my phone, which made me super excited! My old phone was on it's last leg- evidently it had been dropped one too many times. As you can imagine, the news from Cingular was exciting!

After doing a bunch of research, I went down to the store and got my new phone! It's the Cingular 3125, and it's sweet. It runs Windows Mobile 5.0, which means I've got my Outlook on there, as well as internet. Not your regular cell-phone internet though- much faster than that (as fast as a phone can be, anyway).

The cool thing is now I can keep my life straight- I don't have to carry around a phone and a PDA- I've got them together. And I didn't have to join the Blackberry craze. Ha!

I'm still in my trial period, however. So things might change, and I might end up getting a different phone altogether. One thing is for sure though, this windows moblie thing is AWESOME!

Marcus & Piper

So, a few weeks back I got the chance to shoot Marcu & Piper's wedding, righ here in beautiflul San Diego! It was such a special wedding, and I don't think the setting could have been more beautiful- under this big oak tree, overlooking the ocean...amazing!

Check out a slideshow of some of my favorite images!

Check it out!

Well, the new website is up! Kind of. I've been so busy shooting weddings lately, that I haven't had the time I wish I had to work on the website. So, instead of waiting another month for the new site to be completely done, I just decided to put up the new one, and keep working on refining it.

Check it out at JeffYoungren.com! There's a bunch of new stuff, and there's going to be more added in the next few weeks, in the way of media. One of the things I'm most excited about is the new Find an Event function. It used to be that you would see a list of all the events that I've shot while you were looking for a particular event. It was getting kind of confusing as the list was growing.

Now, you just type in the first or last name of either the bride or groom, and it searches our database and returns results based on what you searched for. Pretty slick, I think.

It's time...

My computer needs to be replaced. I know, sad day. The thing is a sweet computer, but with the work that I've been doing in Adobe Photoshop, Bridge, and now the new Lightroom software, my 2.0 gHz AMD Athlon chip just isn't cutting it any longer.

So what am I going to get, you may ask? I'm getting Intel's new Core2Duo chip- these things are amazing! It's a dual processor that is designed to be used with processor-intensive applications, like the entire Adobe suite.

I'm also designing this thing with Windows Vista in mind, so when the new OS comes out I'll be ready for it!

Once I'm done building this thing, I'll post everything about it. I'm so stoked!

The Flower Girl

A few weeks ago I got to spend the day with Marcus and Piper- they got married in Point Loma, right here in San Diego (finally, no traveling!) They got married under this beautiful oak tree- the setting was absolutely perfect. I'm just finishing up editing their pictures, and I'm so excited to show them off- there was so much emotion between these two, it was unreal. You can't look at these pictures without feeling it!

Anyways, I wanted to put up a picture or two of the cutest flower girl ever- Jennifer. She was adorable! And man, she had so much fun dressing up with the other girls and getting her hair done- so cute!

Don't worry, pictures of Marcus & Piper are coming tomorrow!

Mmmm...Beer...

It's October. And that can only mean one thing. Well, it could actually mean many things, but I'm talking about one thing, here. That's right. Octoberfest. Yahoo! Now, many of you know that I come from a German background, so I should really know what "Octoberfest" actually is. But I don't, and that's ok. For me, it's the month when a bunch of awesome breweries come out with a seasonal beer that hits the ol' tastebuds just right :)

Today a bunch of buddies of mine, and I went to the Karl Strauss brewery restauaunt, for some good eatin' and drinkin'. The Octoberfest brew this year is fantastic- not too light, either. Quite good. I'm still a sucker for Red Trolley, though...

I'm High Tech

Well, not really, but I like to pretend that I am :) I've just set up my very first wireless router, so now my house is officially a WiFi hotspot! I love it, no more cords or cables running all over the place, its just "internet in the air."

It's this cool little Linksys router that Best Buy had on sale- and I go the last one! In addition to the internet uplink, it's got 3 ports on the back for those old-fashioned computers that aren't set up for wireless.

I'm a happy camper. Now I can finally sit on the couch, watch a movie, AND play on the internet. All at the same time. Marvelous.

Gary & Court

Yesterday afternoon a good friend of mine, Courtney, got married! I got to go as a guest, which is always a fun change of pace. I did, however bring my camera to the ceremony! I couldn't resist! My wife made me promist to put the camera away following the ceremony, so she could have my attention during the reception!

The ceremony was in Dana Point, in a little spot overlooking the ocean- a breathtaking view. Courtney's dad officiated, and it was one of the most touching ceremonies that I've witnessed- it was so great! Beautiful reception, wonderful food, and amazing people, made for a great event!

Awwww Court...

Back, safe and sound

And we're back!

Botson was so great- I really had a wonderful time. It was, however, the longest Erin and I had been apart since we got married, and that was just wierd. I kind of didn't like being away from her :) That's a good thing, however. I am for sure going back, but next time, the wifey is coming with! Giddy up!

I brought along my new point-and-shoot Canon- let me tell you how hard it was for me not to bring my 50lbs of camera gear...this little thing is great :)

I thought I'd include a few pictures, just to prove I was there :)

Me at Fenway (I didn't get to go to a game- how sad huh?)

The Charles River, right next to my hotel :) Thats some kind of pirate ship in the foreground.

Ok, so this is Damian. He and some buddies tried to steal the Mayflower. That's right. The ship the pilgrims came over on. Marvelous, huh? Oh one more thing- he got arrested for trying :)

More pictures later, once I figure out how to work this camera thing. I'm not so good with cameras. Wait a minute....

Boston, baby!

So this week I'm in Boston, and let me tell you- this is a sweet city! Wow!

I arrived last night, and took a cab to my hotel with is in the middle of Cambridge. I was told that you don't need a car around here, and that is so true! You can take trains/subways everywhere, and it's so great. Anyways, so I'm here on the 17th floor of the Marriott, overlooking the whole city, and it is so gorgeous.

My friend Molly and I went out to a local watering hole- The Cambridge Brewing Company for some amazing food, and some incredible beer. I ended up sitting with the brewmaster for about an hour and talked beer, which was really fun. He's invited me back later this week to try some fresh Pumpkin beer that he is pulling out...

Some friends & I outside of Cambridge Brewing Company. I'm not sure who the girl is on the far left. She just jumped into the picture at the last minute. I'm telling you, Bostonites are strange...PS Molly is trying to look shorter. In reality, she is 6'5"

I went to lunch with some other friends for lunch today to "The Black Sheep."I had the grilled cheddar & tomato sandwich, with a bowl of chili and some homemade chips- it was excellent! The atmosphere is really fun; this is in the Kendall Hotel, which is an old firehouse right near Kendall square. They bring you out a bowl of chips as soon as you sit down; they are home made, and well known. They serve a variety of soups on any given day, and Molly had the Clam Chowder and said it was excellent.

Boston says "Holla back, Cali"

Long time, no talkie :(

So I know, you are dissapointed in me. I've been absent for a while, and I've not posted anything new or exciting in quite a while. But wait- I can explain!

Things have been wonderful around here. And by wonderful, I mean busier than ever! It seems like every day of the week I'm spending time at my office (read: Starbucks) with different couples, getting to know them, and talking about their weddings. I'm loving it, but it can really wear a guy out!

What I've been up to:

  • The new website is coming soon- it's going to be sweet. There's going to be a lot more dynamic elements to it, and there's going to be more media and such built in.
  • I've been talking to tons of brides, getting opinions on wedding packages, and when the new website comes out, we are going to unveil something that nobody else is doing- it's totally awesome how we are going to do our packages from now on.
  • We've switched totally over to Collages.net for our online proofing, and it couldn't be better. They really know how to do things!
  • Editing, editing, and more editing!
I'm going to Phoenix this weekend to photograph Nate & Chrissy, which I'm really excited about! I haven't met them, so I'm really excited to do that, and then spend the afternoon shooting their engagement photos all around Phoenix :)

I'll put thier pictures up as soon as I can :) I have a feeling they will be adorable!

They are getting married February 3rd. Guess who the best man is?

Soda vs Pop

Ah yes, the age old question. Is it called Soda, or Pop? Well, someone finally decided to try to put the question to rest. The study is from 2002, but I just found it, so it is brand-new to me. Maybe some of you have already seen this, but I thought it was kind of cool.

Essentially, this guy collected data from all over the US as to who calls these carbonated-syrup-heart-attack causing beverages what.

Apparently pop wins out over soda for what people call it the most. But that doesn't mean they are right! Check out the website here

Nick & Sonja

So I just finished editing Nick & Sonja's wedding from a couple of weeks ago, where I got to go down to Ensenada, Mexico to share the weekend with them! It was so much fun!

The wedding was at the Hotel Coral & Marina right there on the waterfront, and it was beautiful. We shot the entire day, from when Sonja got up, to when the guests left the reception to head to the hotel bar (these people wanted to party all night long!).

You've got to check out this little slideshow I put together of some of my favorites images from the day! The weather couldn't have been any better!

Jeff & Veronica

Ok, so it's not an engagement session or anything, but we will call it a "special friends" session! This morning Erin and I had Jeff and Veronica over for breakfast before their trip up to Walnut, Ca to visit with Veronica's family- we had a blast!

I got to make waffles on our sweet belgian waffle maker, and eggs to order for the whole bunch. I really really enjoy making breakfast for people, so in fact, if you are ever in the area, call us up and come over for breakfast!

Afterwards, I got the bright idea to take a few pictures of the two of them- click here to see a quick little slideshow of that.

They are adorable. Jeff is one of my best friends, I've known him since 2001, our first summer working at Hume Lake together. He is one of the most incredible guys you will ever meet, and I'm not kidding when I say that. He is the definition of James 1:9.

And Veronica is one of Erin's best friends- she is amazing as well! She is one of the kindest, most generous people you will ever meet...

Can you tell how excited I am that they are "special friends?"

Yeah baby!

Matt & Jourdan

So I just photographed this couple up in San Clemente down there by the pier- it was awesome! They were so much fun to hang out with- we met beforehand at the Starbucks on El Camino Real (one of my favorite 'Bucks) and talked about their wedding which is coming up in March. It's going to be in Dana Point near the marina, and it will rock!

Anyway, then we went down to the ocean and got to taking some pictures- the lighting was perfect, and it was a gorgeous day for being down by the beach. Take a look at these pictures, I dare you to find one where Jourdan isn't smiling! They are such a great couple.

This is what I love about being a wedding photographer- meeting awesome people and making friends with them. I really feel like when March rolls around and I show up with my cameras to their wedding it will be like, "Oh hey, this is our friend Jeff, he's taking some pictures."

I love it, I really do.

Daddy Cross got Engaged!

That's right. It's happened. Daddy Cross is engaged. Craziness!

Dave and Jenny have been dating since last summer, and is absolutely crazy about her! They are the best match ever- and they are my friends. Yes, I am very lucky :)

He asked her on Saturday, after a morning where he surprised her with breakfast in bed, gave her a dress he bought for her in La Jolla, and took her around to museums in Balboa Park. "Hey, why don't we go down to La Jolla?" Jenny: "Ok, I don't suspect anything!"

And there, on the cliffs at the cove, Dave pulled out a ring, got down on one knee and popped the question!

They went to dinner at El Bizcocho at the Rancho Bernardo Inn, and I met up with them for about 5 minutes for some quick photographs before dinner.

My desk went bye-bye

So, after 8 years the desk which I have grown to know and love, is no more. Sad, I know! The thing was so darn big, that I just didn't need it anymore, and Erin and I wanted more room in our place for some thinge (read Erin wants a Dining Room, not a Dining room with a desk). So, we have a new desk on order, which should be here shortly!

It went to another couple from out in El Cajon- Russell and Lisa. They were really fun to get to meet briefly, and I'm glad the desk has a happy home. Erin even used some of that fancy furniture polish on it before we sent it off...

I'm actually really excited about the new desk, it really fits my needs a lot better, and makes room for my new 20" LCD monitor thats on its way! Yeah baby!

Snakes on a Plane!

Best movie ever! What more can I say?

Notice the date on the ticket. It says 8/17. The day before it came out. Advanced screening baby! Adam, Josh, Reuben and myself went and it so entertaining! You have to see it for yourself. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, check out the trailer here

A note about the picture: I took the picture of the ticket sitting on top of my wife's Shakespeare book "The Comedy of Errors" just to show how much more awesome Snakes on a Plane is than Shakespeare. Boo-yah.

I love you wifey:)

UPDATE: When my wife read this she said "What! How is that better than Shakespeare??!?" (she's a literature major). To which I responded, cleverly, I might add, "Because its on top of the book!" That's boo-yah #2 baby.

What a weekend!

This last weekend was so fun! Friday we went up to LA and shot a beautiful wedding for Tim & Margaret. It was at the Hidden Chateau and Gardens, and it was beautiful! I think this wedding wins for the most dancing I've ever seen- these people were professionals, I kid you not!

Then early the next morning, we left San Diego to head down to Ensenada, Mexico to the Hotel Coral and Marina to photograph Nick & Sonja's day. The weather was perfect, and we got some amazing shots. The wedding was on this beautiful lawn overlooking the marina (where Nick had a sweet boat, the Bella), and the reception was in this gorgeous white tent right by the water...

After the wedding the guests weren't content to call it a night, so the party continued in the hotel bar way into the night...so much fun!

Anyways, pictures will be available soon, I can't wait to show them off!!! Yeah!

Happy Birthday to Me!

I can't believe I'm 25! Craaaazy! So, now I can rent cars, and my auto insurance goes down- sounds like cause for celebration to me :)

Erin and I spent the day driving back from Idaho- Nevada wasn't too hot, but we definitely had the AC crankin' for most of the trip.

We met my parents at Gordon Biersch in Mission Valley for a little birthday dinner, and ate (and drank) like kings!

Then we went back to our house, and my parents wanted to help us unload the car, and see out cat, Gracie. Once we got everything inside, they gave me the present my little brother Dan had sent me- an awesome grilling accessory set by Jenn-Air! I was stoked, but then sad because I don't have a BBQ, and I was like "Dang it Dan, do you have to rub it in my face that I don't have a grill yet?"

At which point my Dad said, "Oh, that goes with what's on your Patio!"

THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKIN' ABOUT!

Idaho?

So, right now I'm in Idaho. That's right, good ol' potato country! Erin is from here, so we are usually out here a few times per year, visiting her folks (my new inlaws!) and this time is a special occasion!

Her folks are having a second wedding reception for us out here for all the people who couldn't make it out to San Diego for the wedding. We've been running around getting the place ready- I did my part this morning by mowing the lawns - on a riding mower! Yeah baby! Ok, so I totally feel like a city boy, getting all excited about this kind of thing, but hey- riding mowers are cool, ok?

I'd post a few pics that Erin shot while I was hard at work, but of all things, I forgot my card reader in SD. So you'll just have to wait a few days. So there.

We'll be here until Sunday, and then we are making the wonderful 14 hour drive back in what we hope will be a car full of presents! Wahoo!

Nate & Charissa

This weekend I got the opportunity to photograph Nate & Charissa - what a fun wedding! Nate & Char have got to be some of the most genuine people I've ever met- and their love for one another is absolutely contageous. All you had to do was look at the two of them for a second to know 1) how much Nate cares for Char, and 2) how much she totally loves and respects him!

Anyways, I'm hurridly editing through the pictures for them- and I'm having such a hard time picking out the ones I want to show them! They are all so good! Anyways, here's one to wet your appetite. The full event can be viewed by clicking here. (When it's ready).

David Crowder & Barlow Girl!

Ok, so last night was basically amazing! My friend Christina calls me up a few days ago and says that she got some tickets to the David Crowder & Barlow Girl concert, and wanted to see if Erin and I wanted to go-- so of course we went!

We show up, and got to go to this VIP dinner that was incredible- more food than was healthy, that's for sure! I spent some time at the bar sampling the vast variety of wines (no surprise there) and ended up meeting this guy Curt, who later turned out to be the mayor of Anaheim!

Anyways, after dinner we got taken to the concert, and found out our seats were in the front row! So awesome! Barlow Girl was amazing- I'd never heard them live before, and they were

great! David Crowder came on and put on an amazing show- an awesome time of worship to be sure. Definitely a memorable time...

PS, the pics above were taken totally zoomed out! Yeah baby!

Luckiest guy around...

So, it is currently way past my bedtime, and I'm up and going strong! Erin and I got all our photographs from Lisa, our wedding photographer, last week, and I'm on an editing frenzy! Lisa is a good friend of mine, and an awesome photographer-- she came and shot my wedding (June 25) and so I'm going through and putting the final touches on the images.

I'm really excited to share them with everyone- check back here for the link when they are all online!

Change is good!

So, changes are being made slowly but surely to the ol' website, as you may have noticed. I've been so busy lately that I've had no time to do what I want to it, so it's definitely a slow process.

I'm working on a few slideshows that are going to be put up on the Engagements and Weddings pages, showcasing some of my favorite events as of late. I'm really excited to show these events off!

Also, I'm working with Collages.net to redo my online proofing and ordering system. I used to use Pictage.com for all of that, but I really think Collages.net will be a much better fit. They give me a lot of control as to how I want my images printed, and also allow me to set my prices lower so everybody can buy more pictures! That what it's all about, right?

I'll let you all know once the slidshows are up- you're gonna love 'em!

And We're Back!

Well, the day has finally come. I always said it would never happen, but as of this afternoon, I'm officially a blogger! I've been around so many awesome couples lately, and photographed so many cool weddings that I thought I needed to give a little narrative with these pictures!

For now, I'm just trying to figure out how this thing works, and how to get all the settings just so. You know how it is, I'm sure. So be patient for a bit while I get this thing under control!
